DON’T MIX UP a Formal ‘Hello’ and informal ‘Hi’ in Russian!
If you know a person well it’s better use ‘Hi’ which is ‘Привéт‘ in the Russian Language. However, if you see someone for the first time, say ‘Здрáвствуйте‘ to them to be more polite:
